Working from top to bottom, bring needle out at the beginning of the marked line. Hold the thread down along the centre line. Starting from the right of the line take a stitch with the needle slanting downwards, and bring it out on or near the Magic Chain Blanket Stitch Fly Stitch Feather Stitch Straight Stitch Chevron Seed Stitch Couching centre line with a thread held under. Pull the needle through, and take the next stitch from the left of the line with the needle slanting down and to the right. Continue working stitches alternately on the right and left, keeping them evenly spaced and of equal length and slant.

3. Thread: For sewing, select thread from spool or reel of good quality from a reliable brand, matching to fabric in color and size. Various types of threads like cotton, silk, Terylene and nylon threads are available in the market.
